Since March, 2020 many companies have had to go virtual with their businesses because of COVID-19. Sekai did not have the capacity nor the option to have in-person onboarding. I therefore created the onboarding course with all the relevant information so new hires could take it from the comforts of their homes and have one place to go for information.
I came up with company concept, name and logo and I drafted a list of the sections I wanted to cover and included their respective sub-topics. I then wrote the details for each section after doing a lot of research on what should be covered for the sake of clarity and relevance. After that I designed the supporting graphics, PDF documents, video and Storyline interactions. Finally, I plugged in all the scripts and images in each block and previewed the outcome several times until I was satisfied with all the final look.
These job aids were created with the purpose of making information more accessible to the person being onboarded.
This eLearning project was created in Articulate Rise 360. I used as many types of interactions in each section as I could for maximum engagement. Many of the course's assets were designed outside of Rise and were imported in. These assets included an Adobe video, graphics, documents and interactive Storyline files and required a lot of precision and time to test and edit. In Storyline I designed the files using layers to show information strategically. I received feedback from two people and made all the necessary changes to produce the final product.
